Dedication

I would like to dedicate this book to several wonderful and influential people in my family and my life. First of all, I would like to dedicate this book to my amazing parents Coy & Glenda Fredell who “handpicked” me on July 18, 1983 and gave me the greatest life I could have ever been given. I’ll never be able to express my gratitude and love for you both.

I pray that I have made you proud and that you both always know how grateful and honored I am to be your daughter!

I also want to dedicate this book to my Grandpa Bill and Grandma Mildred. You “chose” me as your granddaughter
and made everlasting footprints in my life and in my heart. Grandpa (Bill Delane Hamrick) you will forever be my guardian angel and that black and yellow butterfly who always reminds me that you will always be with me. It was only right that the main character in this book “Delaney Hamrick” be named after you!

To my son Ryker, you are the greatest gift that God has ever given me and you continually show me what life is all about! Your heart, spirit, and humor amaze me everyday and you are forever my inspiration and motivation to keep reaching for the stars! May you always know that you have taught me more than I could have ever taught you in these past seven years and you have given me the greatest title of my life and that is to be your “Mama!” I will always love you “a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!”

To my husband, Jesse, where do I even begin? Thank you for your continued support and unconditional love!

You always believe in me and continually support me while I work hard to achieve all of my goals and dreams!

You are not only my husband and the father of our son, but you are
also my best friend and the other half of my heart!

My Mama had a cross-stitched picture with this poem below in my bedroom for many years of my life. Thank you Mama and Daddy for your love and choosing me to be your daughter! I’m so blessed to always know that I was “Handpicked!”

Not flesh of my flesh
Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own. Never forget for a single minute,
You didn’t grow under my heart, But in it.
